The purpose of this group is two-fold. Firstly, the MCG advises the company regarding current trends in demand for nutraceutical products by patient groups in the general practice area. Secondly, the MCG assists in the process of preparation of materials for dissemination of current literature, data and information concerning products to medical professionals. This group is comprised of regularly practicing general practitioners.



Dr. Julie Ridgen-Jones, MD
 

Dr. Julie Ridgen-Jones, MD
Dr. Ridgen-Jones is a native of Stratford, ON. She holds a Bacherlor's degree in Dietetics from the University of Western Ontario and a Master's degree in Nutrition from the University of British Columbia. Dr. Ridgen-Jones went on to complete her MD at the University of British Columbia before finishing an internship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Montreal, then starting a practice in familiy medicine in Quebec. She has been practicing family medicine since 1996 in local clinics around Montreal as well as at the Federal Veteran's Hospital in St. Anne de Bellevue and with the Oka First Nations' community. Her interests are in family and womens' health. When not involved in her medical practice, Dr. Ridgen-Jones is a busy mother of three active children in Montreal, QC.




Dr. Philip Rouchotas, MSc, ND

Dr. Philip Rouchotas completed an honours undergraduate degree followed by a master's degree, both in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Guelph. His master's project under advisor Dr. Bruce Holub examined blueberries and antioxidant status of human plasma. Dr. Rouchotas then attended the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto for four years, graduating as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. While studying at CCNM, he worked as a Regulatory Associate and Scienetific Evaluator for Dicentra Inc. in Toronto. Currently, Dr. Rouchotas is a practicing Naturopathic Doctor (ND), is the Professor of Clinical Nutrition at CCNM, and is involved with the Natural Health Products industry helping members of industry with compliance to new regulations established by the Ntural Health Products Directorate (NHPD) of Health Canada and with product formulations. In his role as a practicing Naturopathic Doctor, at the Naturopathic Foundations Health Clinic in Markham, ON, his main area of interest includes the prevention and treatment of chronic degenerative disease through lifestyle modification.




Dr. David Lescheid, BSc, PhD, ND
 

Dr. David Lescheid, BSc, PhD, ND
Dr. David Lescheid graduated with honours from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in 2002. His education includes a PhD in Molecular Biology and Protein Chemistry from the University of Victoria as well as a BSc in Biology and a Diploma in Health and Fitness Studies from Simon Fraser University. He also has additional training in IV therapies, hmoeopathy and different forms of body work.

Dr. Lescheid was a professor for 5 years at the CCNM where he taught Physiology and Microbiology. He is frequently an invited speaker to professional seminars and has published extensively on complementary and alternative medicine. Dr. Lesheid is a member of several different federal and international committees including the Expert Advisory Committee (EAC), the Council for Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) government and media relations subcommittees.

Dr. Lescheid currently practices full-time in a large multidisciplinary health clinic in the Ottawa area. Although his practice extends over a broad range of health concerns, he takes a special interest in the immune system and infectious diseases. He also works with men's health issues, overweight and obesity concerns, and sports medicine.

 

Dr. Neil McKinney, BSc, ND
 

Dr. Neil McKinney, BSc, ND
Dr. McKinney graduated from Simon Fraser University with degree in Biosciences, and had a career in biophysical (radiation) cancer research.  Studied kinesiology at the University of Waterloo.  Graduated  as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from National College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1985. Concurrently trained 3 years in TCM at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.  Served many roles in the regulation and advancement of the profession, including Registrar of the BC College of Naturopathic Physicians and accreditation evaluator for CNME.   Founded the BC Naturopathic Association (www.bcna.ca)  and the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic  Medicine  (www.binm.org)      Professor of Naturopathic Oncology, and author of textbooks of naturopathic oncology used in the Canadian ND colleges.  Mentors and lectures to doctors internationally;  contributes to publications  both for professionals and the public.  Practices integrative oncology in Victoria B.C., Canada.
